Hockey Refunds: Letter received from a Hockey parent regarding our current  refund policy. Parent  would like their case reviewed by the board.  The board has decided to follow the current policy that we have in place, Tim will  contact parent. 

 

At this time all refund requests received  will be following current board refund  policy

 

Beginners Hockey :   Dave Waller Memorial will be paying for any ice costs that are accumulated 

Tyke Hockey: Team in place, Ray Pavey is getting his bench in place

 

Shamrock Report - Cindy Staels

 

-Shamrock league stats handed out as of Nov 8/09.  Novice and Midget team with only 1 point each have applied for a “Team Category Appeal”, they would like to drop down for the OMHA play downs.

-Fines will be given to both centers that do not have cancelled games re-scheduled by Nov 20th

-Midget M20 game in Lambton Shores on Oct. 8th had no game sheet reported. Cindy has spoken with the L.Shores Rep to ensure this has been mailed in.  A copy has been sent in by Bob P.  both centers will be fined in report is not sent in by next Shamrock meeting.

-Midget All Star Game-Wed Jan 6,2010 in Belmont.  Will have info emailed regarding # of players Glencoe is to send.

-OMHA mailing info discussed, had not received this info was sent to Tim H office in error.

-Nov. 15th is deadline to appeal a centre dropping down a category or moving up.

-H1N1- players can still leave gloves on.  Refs may no longer shake hands

-HST comes in effect July 2010.  Budget for this increase.  Tax will affect Businesses as well, keep this in mind when arranging tournaments, sponsorships etc.

-April 24 2010 in St.Marys - “Let’s learn hockey” Shamrock league to pay for ice.  Kids from Goderich to Windsor can register.

 

 

Tri-County Report - Bob Pearson

 

-Tyke team registration due next meeting $50

-Centres will be charged $25 per missing game sheets.  Fines for no shows will be accessed as per Table 1 of the Tri-county Hockey League By-laws, Rules and Regulations.

-Playoff formula - 10 team division, divided into top 5 and bottom 5. Each team is to play a home and away game with each grouping. Top 5 1st and 2nd place finishers play a championship best of 3 series. Bottom 5 (consolation) decided by point total (2points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss).  Tie breaking details to follow.  (11 team division / top 5 bottom 6 - 12 team division / 6top 6 bottom)

 

 

-Tyke Games

            -Coaches allowed on ice till Jan 1st

            -Regular off-sides enforced

            -3 minute buzzer for line changes, face off where play ends.  Clocks stops on line change buzzer and restarts on face off.

            -1 hr of ice(50 minutes) 1 period to run for 50 minutes

            -Tyke teams must have approved roster

 

-Roster deadline Dec1st. No games allowed after Dec 1st without approved roster.

-Affiliated Players appear on the regular roster. AP players must be on a roster or the affiliating team’s roster will not be approved.

-Lot’s of missing game sheets, many turned in at the meeting

-Glencoe asked: Can Midget team have no rostered goalie if two or more players want to share position. Answer: No, Bantam and up must have a rostered goalie(s) must dress as goalie and may not play out. If rostered goalie are away, a player may dress as a goalie.

-On-line PRS clinic.  Volunteers can now get their PRS on line for $13.50 (this one does expire)

-Ridgetown is hosting a chip clinic on Nov 21st

-Mooretown asked about cancellation policy due to illness.  Teams can cancel but must compensate the hosting centre for ref’s and timekeepers.

 

 

Girls Report - Bob Thirlwall

 

-Still waiting to get confirmation on a Canadian’s Women’s team game, would like to run a tournament around the game or and a fundraiser.

-Waiting on one parent for full payment

-game cancelled late notice in Mooretown - short players due to illness

-Woodstock tournament booked for second weekend in Jan. 8-10th

 

Referee in Chief

-will be sending Jeff ref and timekeeper costs for tourney

 

 

pay schedule for refs

Brian would like to try paying the refs cash for a month. Letter received from gatekeeper,  feels that paying them by cheque would be the best route.

-Refs do not like waiting a week for payment, some $ errors have been made.

Timekeeper pay

-Tim will look into it

-parent would like a break down of timekeeper games and how much they are being paid for each game

-Criminal Record Checks(Debbie) - Brenda at the Glencoe Detachment mentioned that Debbie can check ID for parents needing to obtain a police check.  Police Checks will need to be picked up by the parent - All but 5 checks are in

-Phil Clubb - mentioned that coaches must get the “OK” from other coaches when pulling up AP players.

 

 

Gatekeeper Update

-going well

-Season Pass - parent pointed out  that $80 was too much for how many games they need to attend, they would like to be compensated for the difference

-All hockey pools have been entered, Ben Salomons was this seasons top seller with 16pools sold!

Ice Scheduling

-Greg would like coaches to respond to open ice availability  as soon as possible

-Beginner ice could be split in two, as they only really use 1/2 ice anyways

 

 

Equipment/Purchasing

Purchases: Printall Services- $1165.68 for coffee mugs, logo digitizing for embroidery, screening for clothing and sponsor bars.  MJM Sports- $499.50 (25med socks, 15lrg socks,10med white socks)
